This talk focuses on ideological conformity in academia: where it comes from, which issues are especially sensitive and why it can be dangerous to enforce taboos around sensitive issues rather than encouraging different sides to openly debate them.

A ceremonial planting will be held at the site of a new memorial tree in honor of the 10 community members who lost their lives in the 2021 shooting at King Soopers. The tree is a catalpa, a large shade tree that offers heart-shaped leaves, beautiful spring flowers and unique, persistent fruit.
