Students are encouraged to volunteer as a way to give back, meet new people, learn new skills and get more involved in their community. All of these benefits that come from volunteering can apply to faculty and staff members as well.

Volunteering as a faculty or staff member, both on and off campus, can help you feel more connected and meet others in your local community. Here are a few reasons to consider volunteering this year.

Give back

Support a cause you are passionate about and make a difference by giving back with your time. When it comes to volunteering, there’s something for everyone. From working with animals to politics to the environment, there are plenty of options to match with your passions and interests.

Find opportunities to match every schedule

Whether you have a free weekend or want to make more of a commitment with something long term, CUServes is the online platform to find volunteer needs from campus and community organizations. Students, faculty and staff can log in to CUServes with their IdentiKey to start browsing both short- and long-term opportunities.

Faculty and staff also can also volunteer at key events on campus throughout the year, including Commencement and Fall Welcome

Get involved and meet new people

Volunteering allows you to meet new people, whether you volunteer on or off campus. Get involved and work with others that have similar interests and passions.

Volunteering can help us all be more engaged with our community. The Volunteer Resource Center can help with questions or to learn more about volunteer opportunities through CU Boulder.
