Learn what equity is and how it impacts athletes across disciplines, identities and age groups.

Identify strategies they can use to be an effective ally and promote equity on campus and within the greater community.

Build skills and practice techniques for addressing inequities to help increase student retention, engagement and success.

Connect with departments and programs across campus that are available to support students, staff and faculty.
The Inclusive Sports Summit is free and open to faculty, staff, students and community members.

9:00 a.m. - 9:50 a.m. | Kickoff and Opening Session - Indigenous Perspectives in Sport: A focused conversation on the North American Indigenous Games and CU Athlete Experience Presented by: Robin Duffy-Wirth, SunUte Community Center Director Virgil Morgan, SunUte Recreation Manager Alex Baca, CU-Boulder Cross Country and Track and Field Athlete Our program will open with a land acknowledgment. Shortly after, numerous individuals with Native and Indigenous backgrounds will discuss their experiences in sport, the background of the North American Indigenous Games, and detail how they continue to advocate for Native and Indigenous people in sport at CU and beyond. |

10 a.m. -10:50 a.m. | The State of Fitness for Black America Presented by: Peter Stevenson Peter Stevenson is a former recreation director, a certified Master Personal Trainer, Sports Nutritionist, Health Club Manager and a Strength & Condition Trainer. His work identifies key insights on the health and fitness of Black America and how to strategically improve health outcomes through diet, recreation and education. |

11 a.m. -12:00 p.m. | Legacy - an inside look at creating and sustaining past and future legacies Presented by: Rick George, Director of Athletics, CU-Boulder Colorado Athletics made headlines as the only Power 5 athletic department to hire 3 consecutive Black men as head football coach, bringing attention and awareness to the lack of diversity in head coaches in college football. Rick George will share how to build legacies for the future in diversity and inclusion, as well as the individual work he does to advance his own legacy, and the legacy of Colorado Athletics. |

12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. | The Colorado athlete experience: personal and professional development in the age of NIL, amateurism, and athlete empowerment Presented by: CU Boulder Sport Club and Varsity student-athletes Varsity and Club Athletes will discuss their involvement with sponsorship and NIL to give participants a look at how current athletes navigate the opportunities and challenges associated with them. |

2:30 p.m. -3:15 p.m. | Broncos en Espanol: Hispanic and Latino involvement in sport Presented by: Marisol Villagomez - Director of Multicultural Marketing, Denver Broncos Villagomez is the Director of Multicultural Marketing for the Denver Broncos. She helped establish Broncos en Español, the Latino serving marketing initiative for the Denver Broncos in Colorado and oversees the Club’s international efforts in Mexico. She is also a graduate of the Latino Leadership Institute, and will present on her work with the Broncos and additional topics of Hispanic and Latino involvement in sport and recreation. |

3:30 p.m. -4:30 p.m. | Title IX for all? The history, intersection and Future of Title IX Presented by: Alexis Williams - Senior Associate AD, External Relations, CU Athletics Rhonda Blanford Green - Former Commissioner, Colorado High School Activities Association Jill Keegan - Senior Associate AD and Senior Woman Administrator, CU Athletics This session will examine the intersection between Title IX and gender, race, ethnicity, sex and ability, among others, and will additionally detail how the future of Title IX will look. |
