commencement procession

Join us in celebrating the graduating class of 2022 by volunteering to help students and their families/guests during our in-person commencement events. Commencement volunteers are critical to ensuring this campus tradition is enjoyable, celebratory and smooth for everyone who will be visiting campus.

Campus is recruiting volunteers for the following roles between Thursday, May 5, and Saturday, May 7.

Golf cart driver

As a golf cart volunteer, you will pick up and drive around families, students and other commencement guests who seem lost on campus or who need assistance in moving from one location to another. A variety of shifts are available on May 5 and 6.

Volunteers must take or have taken CU’s Motorized Off-road Vehicles (Golf Cart Safety training) prior to the beginning of the volunteer shift. Because of this training requirement, this volunteer role is only open to CU Boulder faculty, staff and students. There will be a quick training before volunteers depart for the day that will further explain routes and pick-up/drop-off locations.

If you’re interested in this volunteer role, please sign up for a shift (or two).

Recognition ceremony host

The role of the recognition ceremony host is to serve as a representative of the Commencement Committee at various campus venues in support of the recognition ceremony planner(s). Think of yourself as the event venue manager or host for your shift.

Select a volunteer shift based on the dates and times you are available and/or based on the college, school or department hosting the event if you have a special connection. Volunteers must attend a briefing the day of your shift (available in person or virtual).

If you are interested in this volunteer role, please check out the available shifts and sign up
