Conversation with the Chancellor features Alex Honnold, world-renowned climber and environmentalist who visited CU Boulder on Nov. 1. The first and only person in history to scale El Capitan without any ropes or safety gear, Honnold’s courage and athleticism was showcased in the National Geographic documentary Free Solo.

A lifelong environmentalist, Honnold launched the nonprofit Honnold Foundation in 2012, which promotes and funds solar energy projects across the world to combat climate change. His latest endeavor is a television series coming soon to Disney+, On the Edge with Alex Honnold, which explores climate change through climbing treks and conversations with scientists and experts in Greenland.

In Conversations with the Chancellor, Honnold and Chancellor Philip DiStefano discuss what it takes to push the limits, achieve the unthinkable and address one of the biggest challenges facing humanity: climate change.
