Sign up for Grad Appreciation Days events (class of 2020, too)
We told you about the exciting in-person opportunities that are part of Grad Appreciation Days. Now it’s almost time to get your cap and gown, decorate your cap, reserve your slot to walk across the stage in the magnificent Folsom Field, take a selfie with inflatable Buff-themed frames around campus and more.
Members of the classes of 2021 and 2020 are invited to participate in Grad Appreciation Days events this spring.
Find all the information you need to plan your schedule at the new commencement 2021 website, a one-stop-shop for commencement-related activities and resources.
Here’s more information on various activities to help you celebrate.
April 19–29: Campus photo ops
Take photos at one or all three inflatable photo frames around campus and share selfie moments using the #ForeverBuffs hashtag. No registration required. Grads will find inflatable photo frames at these iconic campus locations:
- University Memorial Center (UMC, fifth floor or Fountain Plaza)
- Varsity Lawn and pond
- Buffalo Plaza (near Ralphie Statue outside of Folsom Stadium)
In addition, look for signs around campus for other grad-related photo ops. Details to come.
April 20–22: Gear Grab
After applying to graduate in 2021, getting your regalia is next on the checklist. Graduates can purchase caps and gowns, pick up various cords and stoles, sign the class of 2021 Forever Buffs banner (only available April 20–21) and even decorate your cap in a COVID-safe environment in the CU Book Store.
April 22–23, 26–27: Cross the stage at Folsom Field
Collect your diploma cover, cross the stage at Folsom Field and smile for a professionally taken photograph. Enjoy college and school giveaways, plus pick up your class of 2021 gift from the Alumni Association. A livestream feed will be available, allowing your family and friends to watch as you cross the stage. Register for your slot.
May 6: Livestream commencement ceremony
CU Boulder will celebrate the class of 2021 with a livestreamed commencement ceremony at noon (MDT) on May 6. See the commencement 2021 website for highlights, details on how to view the livestream of the ceremony and ideas for celebrating, including downloadable lawn signs, banners and posters.
College, school and department ceremonies
Individual colleges, schools and departments will also be celebrating the class of 2021 with virtual recognition ceremonies following the livestreamed commencement ceremony. More information on each unit’s plans is available on the commencement 2021 website.
