Chancellor Philip DiStefano and Chief Operating Officer Patrick O’Rourke spent an hour walking about 6 blocks of University Hill with members of the Hill Revitalization Working Group Friday afternoon.

The purpose of the walk was to hear neighbors’ concerns and build towards better university-neighborhood collaboration following the March 6 riot.

The group visited several sites, including the site of the riot, and discussed next steps to prevent future problems.

“This is a perfect example of the cooperation we want to support with our neighbors,” said Chancellor Distefano. “Relationships with neighborhood groups, the city and the university are the cornerstone of this community and we’re committed to working with the community to improve the experience on the Hill for residents and students.”
