Are you planning on graduating at the end of this semester? With the semester nearing completion and winter degree conferral just around the corner, here's what you need to know to ensure you are on track and ready to celebrate.

Apply to graduate

The most important item to remember to complete is your application for graduation. Soon-to-be graduates are encouraged to check in with their advisors to ensure all credits have been met and to inform their dean’s office of their plans.

  • The last day for undergraduate students to submit, update or cancel their fall 2020 application form is Monday, Dec. 7 (by 11:59 p.m. MST).

It's recommended you submit your application to graduate sooner to ensure a smooth process. Find more information on applying for graduation.

Recognition ceremonies

While no campuswide ceremony is held in the winter, many colleges, schools, departments and programs across the university will hold individual recognition ceremonies beginning on Monday, Dec. 14, for winter graduates. See the full list of those holding winter recognition ceremonies (and those who will not). All events will be held virtually.

Winter grad information

Be sure to check out the winter grad information available on the commencement website. Find essential information on everything from caps and gowns and graduation announcements to how to stay connected as a Forever Buff.

If you wish to purchase academic regalia for photos, participation in a virtual ceremony or attendance at a future in-person ceremony, please be sure to visit the CU Book Store in person or online. Undergraduate regalia must be ordered by 2 p.m. MST on Monday, Dec. 7, for shipping, or 2 p.m. MST on Friday, Dec. 11, for in-store pick-up to receive your order by the winter degree conferral date of Monday, Dec. 14.

Prepare to celebrate

We are proud of your accomplishments, look forward to celebrating with you and wish you the best of luck in all of your future endeavors. We are Buffs Together, no matter where we are!
