The end of the semester is in sight! Your librarians wish you the very best of luck and hope you’ll take care of yourself as the semester concludes. Knowing how intense study demands can be, we’d like to help you through the marathon. Here, we offer some ways the University Libraries can support you.

Pawsing for concentration

We know many of you will be dedicating long hours to final exam preparation or completing those projects that demand a ton of your intellectual energy. We encourage you to allow time for a pause — for a break in your concentration. It will help your focus and attention. Choose a break activity that refreshes and delights you, whether that means taking a walk, stretching, connecting with friends or enjoying your pets.

This semester the libraries are offering a virtual study break starring the pets from librarians’ homes. Join your librarians and their furry family members November 30 - December 11 between 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. Drop-in any time and bring your own pets along if you’d like. We’ll casually chat about the pleasure pets bring, especially in stressful times. You’ll have the opportunity to demonstrate your pet trivia knowledge too!

In between Pawffice hours, enjoy these animal-inspired resources from the Libraries’ collection.  We recommend the streaming videos!

Interested in more streaming? Take a break with Swank Digital Campus, featuring films, documentaries, independent productions and TV shows.

For the puzzle-fans and game-lovers among you, put the pieces of Norlin back together, play a round of Sudoku, go retro or craft a Mandala for a change of pace.

Connecting for assistance

Remember you don’t have to do it all on your own. Your librarians are available to help you reach your goals.

Do you have a last-minute question or need help finding something? Use your computer or mobile device to Ask a Librarian and receive an immediate answer during business hours.

Would you benefit from in-depth coaching to make those final steps to complete your research assignment? Schedule a research consultation for a day and time when you are available to meet virtually with a librarian.

Need a few tips or strategies to get started on your research? Browse through the research strategies guides.

Taking care of yourself

Remember to keep perspective and notice how you are feeling. If you are feeling increasingly overwhelmed or stressed, know that there are places you can turn to: contact Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) or try SilverCloud — a free, self-guided program to help you overcome feelings of depression, anxiety and stress.

Your librarians wish you good luck on finals! We celebrate all your hard work during this unusual semester!
