Transferring to a new university can be intimidating. Once you arrive it feels like you have to start from scratch and it can be especially difficult if you don’t know the community. For that reason, it’s important to continue to step outside of your comfort zone and explore your campus.
National Transfer Student Week is Oct. 19-23 and there’s no better way to meet new people and get involved. Here are some things you can participate in this week to find your place.
Virtual Activities
If you’re looking to meet fellow transfer Buffs, connect with different offices on campus and learn more about the CU Boulder community, here are some things to attend:
- Connecting group dialogue. Share with other transfer students what your experience in adjusting to life at CU is like.
- Transfer your skills. Learn how to use the skills you have when it comes to applying for scholarships, employment and more.
- How to tame your money. Get tips from Elevations Credit Union on how to stay on top of your finances.
- Jackbox games with transfer students. Spend your afternoon playing trivia and meeting other fellow transfer Buffs.
Be sure to RSVP or mark the event on your calendar so you don’t miss any events.
This is your time to connect, explore and start your journey at CU on a high note. Transfer Student Week was designed for you. If you can’t make this week’s events, there will be other events each month through the rest of the semester.
