Welcome back, Buffs! We are excited to see all of you on campus and online for the fall 2020 semester. The University Libraries are hard at work doing everything we can to ensure a safe and healthy return to the libraries. This semester will look a little different, but we are here virtually and in person to support you and your academic needs.

Please view our COVID-19 Information for Library Services page for a complete overview of library services. This page is updated regularly and serves as your go-to source for COVID-19 related library information.

Spaces

Gemmill Engineering, Math & Physics Library is now open to all current CU Boulder faculty, staff and students, with BuffOne card swipe access. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Starting August 24th, the newly renovated William M. White Business Library opens and our hours will extend to 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors to the two libraries may reserve a socially distanced study seat through our online reservation system.

The Laughing Goat Coffeehouse is open in the Norlin Commons for carry-out orders. Once you get your caffeine, head outside to the outdoor study tables on the Sundial Plaza with the improved wifi!

In order to maintain our regular operations, the rest of Norlin Library will only be open this semester for classroom space.

We require everyone who enters the libraries to wear a face mask and follow social distancing protocols. Learn more about using our spaces including health and safety guidelines and the campus effort to protect our herd.

Support

The libraries provide numerous resources to help aid your teaching and learning goals. As a CU Boulder affiliate, you have access to librarians who are experts in over 60 fields of study! Receive our research support through IM, email, text (720-897-3333) or one-on-one virtual consultations. We have also created a number of research guides customized for subjects across campus.

Need feedback on your writing projects? Book an appointment with trained writing consults through the Writing Center. Appointments this fall are remote only and reservable online!

Collections

Our library stacks are closed off for browsing, but current faculty, staff and students may access our collections through contactless hold pickup.

Search our entire collection of books and articles online through OneSearch on our libraries’ homepage or browse the A-Z database list.

Still not finding what you need? Request electronic books and articles through ILL (Interlibrary Loan) or explore our extended access to the HathiTrust which provides a robust collection of digital materials available for you to browse, search and download.

Course reserves are completely online this semester. View your course materials on Canvas or instructors may submit a request to add new materials.

The library is more than just books—we provide access to streaming video services including Kaltura, Kanopy and Swank Digital Campus. You can also stay up to date with the latest news information through our online subscriptions to the New York Times and Wall Street Journal

Keep in mind that this is an evolving situation and some services and spaces are still under review. We will provide updates as new information becomes available on the libraries’ website. We look forward to introducing you to additional resources and spaces as the situation allows. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
