The Shanghai alumni chapter is among numerous CU Boulder affiliates supporting fellow Buffs through the coronavirus pandemic.
In mid-March, chapter leader Moon Yin (ElCompEngr’16) reached out to the Alumni Association with an offer from the alumni group to donate surgical masks to support their alma mater. In total, Moon and 10 other alumni donated 1,200 masks to CU Boulder, which were distributed in March to health care and first responders within CU.
Although China was barely emerging from its own upheaval, Moon and the other Shanghai alumni said they wanted to support the CU community in its time of need.
“We are happy to do what we can to help out,” he said. “We are all in this together.”
The Buffs Together initiative launched April 7 to bring together students, staff, faculty and alumni like Moon to support to CU community, wherever they are, through donations, volunteer opportunities and messages of support for one another.
