In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) threat, CU’s Office of Government Relations has temporarily suspended its work supporting visits by CU students, faculty and leadership at the U.S. Capitol, White House and with federal agency partners. Last week, the first case of COVID-19 on Capitol Hill was announced, and lawmakers are taking steps to limit public access to the Capitol grounds.

While these particular activities are suspended for the immediate future, CU's advocacy and engagement in Washington, D.C. on behalf of university funding and policy priorities continue in earnest. In particular, CU’s Federal Team is actively engaged in efforts to address the impacts of COVID-19 on the campus community with decision-makers in Washington, as well as communicate the vital role scientific research at American universities will play in addressing the coronavirus outbreak and in preventing future public health emergencies.

The Office of Government Relations thanks everyone for their understanding and support.
