Chancellor Phil DiStefano is extending the Campus Use of University Facilities (CUUF) permit for the Los Seis de Boulder sculpture, per the recommendation of faculty who will be part of the Art in Public Space Committee.
Faculty who will be part of the Art in Public Space Committee asked for the extension until it has developed a policy and procedures for art in public space. The committee will be meeting over the coming months to recommend a policy and procedures for public art on the Boulder campus.
The sculpture has significant meaning to the student artist who created it, as well as the many community stakeholders who participated in its creation and voiced support for it. The extension allows the sculpture to remain visible and part of our campus dialogue while the committee pursues its work.
