The University Libraries are offering educators affiliated with the university the opportunity to participate in a two-part Open Educational Resources (OER) professional development experience and to receive a $250 stipend recognizing their engagement.
This opportunity is sponsored by Open CU, a project funded by a grant from the Colorado Department of Higher Education and with additional support from the CU Office of the President, the CU Office of Academic Affairs, and the Office of the Provost. Open CU Boulder strives to encourage alternatives to high-cost course materials through educators’ consideration of OER and encourages a teaching culture that explores new pedagogical models for learning.
Educators are invited to apply to participate in a 1.5-hour workshop on open educational resources in Norlin Library on one of the following dates:
- Monday, February 10, 12-1:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, February 19, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Thursday, February 27, 12:30-2 p.m.
- Tuesday, March 3, 12:30-2 p.m.
Lunch will be provided. Following the workshop, participants must write a brief review of an open textbook of interest and submit their review within four weeks of their workshop participation.
The application deadline is February 3, 2020. All campus educators with current, paid-appointments, including instructors/senior instructors, temporary/permanent faculty, and graduate part-time teaching instructors are invited to apply. Selected applicants will be notified of their acceptance by February 5, 2020.
Participants who engage in the two-part learning experience will receive a $250 stipend following submission of their open textbook review.
