Self-care is any activity that you do deliberately in order to take care of your mental, emotional, and physical health. The Faculty & Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) is dedicated to serving the emotional and psychological needs of the campus community through activities that promote self-care and personal growth. The following workshops are open to all CU Boulder faculty and staff. There is not cost to attend. Nutrition for Stress Management

Learn how to plan meals that reduce stress on your body, increase energy, enhance moods, decrease sugar cravings and increase ability to handle daily ups and downs. Hint – it starts with breakfast! This workshop is intended for any CU Boulder faculty or staff member who wants to learn more about making choices around designing healthy and balanced life habits. Participants will be able to:

Work-Life Balance 101

What is work-life balance? How do I get it? Is anyone capable of doing it? Work-life Balance 101 is a three part series where we will explore the whats, whys and hows of bringing self-care into our daily lives. Participants will create a plan that fits individual needs and discuss ways to bring it to action. Any CU Boulder employee who would like a better work-life balance and can commit to the full series. Participants will be able to:
- Identify tools to live a healthier life-style
- Identify areas where extra support may be needed
- Receive support and resources from the group
- Apply new skills and tools to enhance their work-life balance

In this session, participants will learn about tools to help clear obstacles and find sleep solutions that work for you. This workshop is intended for any CU Boulder faculty or staff member who wants to learn more about getting a good night’s sleep and add to their personal care routine. Participants will be able to:
- Overcome sleep obstacles to get better rest
- Apply tools that work for the best sleep solutions

Parenting Series

Parenting series is an interactive series that will highlight strategies that are most likely to increase positive interactions and strong emotional connections in your family system. Participants will learn about the neuro-biological and behavioral sciences that will help make sense of the developmental processes of infants, children and adolescents. This workshop is intended for staff/faculty who are new parents and parents-to-be and who can commit to a four weeks series (can attend with Spouse even if not an employee). Participants will be able to:
- Identify the concepts of human and child development
- Apply emotional regulation and communication skills
- Generate practical ideas for self-care as a parent
