Employee Learning Week (ELW) is a global campaign sponsored by the Association for Talent Development to highlight the important connection between learning and achieving organizational results. In 2010, ELW received recognition in the US Congress by Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA), who recognized ELW with a resolution that appeared in the Congressional Record. During the first week of December, organizations all over the world host learning and recognition events to celebrate employee learning.

Since 2018, CU Boulder has sponsored employee learning week events to recognize those who achieved the following during the year:

  • Received degrees
  • Participated in apprentice programs
  • Received professional certifications
  • Attended professional conferences
  • Submitted articles for publication
  • Learned new languages
  • Attended career-focused professional development courses
