Welcome from the 2020 Senior Class Council
Senior Class Council is thrilled to be kicking off the school year with Buffs in their final year at CU Boulder! SCC is an organization on campus that advocates for both the senior class and all students on the CU Boulder campus. We’re looking for people interested in shaping the best year for our seniors.
A large part of our job is to design the program for the commencement ceremony at the end of spring semester, welcoming our grads into our Forever Buffs community. To prepare for this memorable event, SCC selects the commencement speaker, plans the itinerary for the ceremony, and curates the beloved senior video to air at commencement. We also preside over growing the Senior Class Gift—a scholarship benefiting select first-year students for all four years of their college career. Any first years interested in applying for the scholarship should keep an eye out for more information later this month!
Apart from commencement planning, SCC builds community on campus through advocating between the needs of the student body and campus leadership, running a special homecoming event, and creating the senior t-shirt.
SCC cannot accomplish any of this without your help! There are a number of ways you can get involved, and you don’t have to be a graduating senior to join. This year, we are reinventing the organization and invite you to be a founding member of the new and improved SCC. Most importantly, we need your help in crafting the senior video. As you wrap up your final year at CU, we encourage you to capture special moments and memories and submit videos to us throughout the year for a chance to be featured in the culminating senior video.
Please email scc@colorado.edu for more information about joining, submissions for the senior video, and any questions you may have. Have a fantastic year, Buffs!
