Seven Golfers Earn Pac-12 All-Academic Honors

BOULDER — A total of seven University of Colorado golfers were selected to the 2019 Pac-12 All-Academic teams, four men and three women, as announced by the conference on Thursday.
 
Sophomore Elle Otten was named to the women's first team, while junior Victor Bjorlow, junior Kirsty Hodgkins, junior Ross Macdonald, junior Daniel O'Loughlin, sophomore Trevor Olkowski and senior Gillian Vance were all selected to their respective honorable mention squads.
 
Otten is majoring in business and psychology and has recorded a grade point average of 3.82 for her first Pac-12 All-Academic honor. She competed in 30 rounds this season and was fifth on the team with a 78.10 stroke average. She played in 10 tournaments for the Buffs, twice as an individual, and 17 of her 24 rounds in team play counted towards the team score.
 
Hodgkins is a mechanical engineering major with a 3.105 GPA and Vance earned a 3.180 GPA while majoring in strategic communication with an emphasis in public relations.
 
On the men's side, Bjorlow is a business major, focusing on finance and marketing, and has a 3.416 GPA. Macdonald is a strategic communication major with a 3.138 GPA and O'Loughlin owns a 3.023 GPA while majoring in geography. Olkowski is a business major with an emphasis in real estate and has a 3.171 GPA.  
 
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and appear in at least 50 percent of the team's events.
