“I’m excited to welcome Marin to the ODA team,” says Ho-a. “I look forward to working closely as we explore the future of ODA and cultivate its suite of services available to the CU Boulder community.”

Stanek has more than 20 years of experience in higher education, working at Colorado State University, the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Wisconsin-Extension. She joined CU Boulder in 2001 and has collaborated closely with academic and administrative leadership. She will continue to maintain her role as deputy CIO for the campus.

Stanek holds a Bachelor of Arts in political economics from Colorado College and master's and doctoral degrees in higher education administration and leadership from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to joining CU Boulder, she worked in private industry at Newell Rubbermaid and Hauser Chemical and is currently teaching a higher education information technology course to graduate students in CU Boulder’s School of Education.

“I’m thrilled for this interim appointment and the opportunity to build upon ODA’s deep institutional knowledge and innovative spirit,” says Stanek.

ODA houses the Institutional Research and Reporting & Analytics groups, which specialize in data collection, analysis and visualization. Some offerings to campus include department- and campus-level surveys, faculty course questionnaires and additional consulting projects that address data analysis and exploration needs for an individual classroom to larger campus initiatives. ODA also led efforts to create and currently manages the university’s Data Lake, which brings many data sources across campus into one location for deeper, meaningful analysis.

Ho-a has indicated that plans are underway to begin a national search for a permanent replacement in the coming months. Any requests or inquiries can either be directed to Stanek or
