Today, Senior Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer Kelly Fox announced Dan Jones, chief information security officer (CISO) for CU, will be taking over as the associate vice chancellor (AVC) for Integrity, Safety, and Compliance.
The position was previously held by Louise Vale on an interim basis. Fox says when she restructured Strategic Resources and Support last February, she intended for Vale to fill the role until a permanent AVC was identified.
“I am grateful for Louise’s leadership while we searched for a new police chief and a permanent associate vice chancellor to lead this office.” Vale will continue her work developing a policy and compliance office for the campus.
“Dan brings his strong commitment to ethics and compliance, and he also has many years of experience in crisis management and coordinating with law enforcement as CISO,” Fox said.
In addition, when Doreen Jokerst takes over as the next chief of police for the CU Boulder Police Department next week, she will report to Jones, as will Vale in her new role as director of integrity and compliance for the Boulder campus.
Jones, who is currently in the Office of Information Technology (OIT), has 18 years of experience working on the Boulder and system campuses. Jones will continue to oversee the information security and digital accessibility programs in partnership with OIT and University Information Services.
“I am delighted to work with Louise and Doreen. Louise’s experience will help us continue guide the campus and Doreen will bring continued exceptional leadership to CUPD and emergency management,” Jones said.
