CU volleyball home opener
CU volleyball comes home for the first time this season to host the 2018 Buffs Invitational. Colorado will be take on Georgia Friday evening at 6 p.m., then conclude action in a double-header Saturday against North Carolina at noon and Oklahoma at 7 p.m.
Program Council Film Series: How to Talk to Girls at Parties

CU Comedy Club open mic
The CU Comedy club welcomes anyone who enjoys laughter to their open mic night. From 6 to 8 p.m., the stage will be open for anyone brave enough to share a joke! The event is free and will be held at The Connection in the UMC.
Spaghetti Confession improv show
Spaghetti Confessions debuts their first improv show of the semester at the Glenn Miller Ballroom in the UMC. Admission is free, and they invite everyone to join them at 8 p.m. for some laughs.
Saturday, Sept. 8
Photography hike
Take a hike! Join CU Art Museum at Chautauqua Park to explore local trails with a guide and practice photographing Boulder's landscapes. Meet at Kittredge Pond at 4:30 p.m. and take a shuttle to Chautauqua, or meet the group there. Reserve a spot by emailing dante.dupont@colorado.edu.
American Football 101 workshop
Anyone looking to become familiar with American football is invited to join the Theta Tau Engineering Fraternity for a crash-course on the sport. From 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Kitt Field, both local and international students are encouraged to learn the basics of flag football and meet some new friends. If that isn’t enough motivation, attendees also will get a free ticket to the CU football game on Sept. 15. Registration is $10.

Buffalo Bicycle Classic
The BBC is an annual race of varying lengths that aims to raise tuition money for CU Boulder students in need. Since its founding in 2003, participants have collectively raised over $3 million. Packages vary in cost and course length, but community members are welcome to follow along some of the routes and cheer on participants if they aren’t interested in racing themselves. Registration is still open, and more details on the race can be found at their website above. Donations are welcome.
MCDB department celebration
Join Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology's star scientists of the past and present for a free, public lecture series exploring their current research on human stem cell treatments for neurological disease, the neuroscience of social bonding, how animal viruses threaten humans and more. Held in Muenzinger Auditorium at 10 a.m.
Boulder Pridefest 2018
Make your way down to Central Park for Boulder Pridefest. The day will be packed with activities and opportunities to engage with community partners and vendors, including the Center for Inclusion & Social Change. The fest begins at 11:30 a.m.
