Making teaching and learning visible

In 2017, the Faculty Teaching Excellence Program (FTEP) launched the Making Teaching and Learning Visible (MTLV) initiative, an opportunity to publish a benchmark teaching portfolio on the FTEP website. These portfolios document the intellectual inquiry and research that inform faculty members’ design for student learning.

MTLV is an opportunity to redesign at least one component of a course by collecting and analyzing data from quick assessments of student learning. The innovation of MTLV, however, is not the content of the courses but the fact faculty are making their pedagogy, course development processes, and their challenges and insights more visible and accessible than they have been historically. In doing so, faculty illustrate the significant role of teaching in their professional life.

Please contact Mary Ann Shea at maryann.shea@colorado.edu to inquire as to how you can make your own teaching and learning visible through a course portfolio.

Learn more about course portfolios on the FTEP website or join an upcoming information session on Aug. 27 or Aug. 30.
