University of Colorado Boulder New Venture Challenge finalist acquired by POLITICO venture

Statehill, a finalist in CU Boulder’s New Venture Challenge 10 announced it has been acquired by POLITICO Europe, a joint venture between POLITICO and Axel Springer.

Statehill joins Specdrums, recently acquired by Sphero, as the second NVC10 finalist to be acquired only months after a compelling performance in the CU Boulder startup competition.

Keaton Brown, who graduated from CU Boulder in May of 2018, majored in Economics and Political Science while developing the startup. He “pitched” on behalf of the venture in the competition and helped steer Statehill to an Audience Choice Award, second place in the Information Technology Track Finals and a fourth-place finish at the Championships. He continues as part of the Statehill business development team.

Statehill collects legislative data and builds tools that enable a more productive and navigable legislative process, helping legislative professionals work smarter and stay connected. Integrating Statehill with POLITICO Europe’s editorial and functional expertise is expected to strengthen the parent company’s product offerings.
