Interested in learning how to successfully grow your outreach program?

Join us for the Reaching New Heights Through Outreach Workshop on June 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Kittredge Multipurpose Room. Advance registration is required; sign up by May 25.

Designed for CU Boulder staff or faculty who manage outreach programs and community partnerships, this interactive professional development workshop will explore ways to grow your outreach program. It is sponsored by the Outreach and Engagement Professionals Network (OEPN) Steering Committee.

Participants will focus on program strengths and unique qualities, identify obstacles and struggles, and consider strategies for overcoming these challenges. It also will include networking opportunities for CU Boulder staff and faculty.

Bernard Amadei, founder of Engineers Without Borders, will be the keynote speaker. Amadei is a professor of civil engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder. His main research and teaching interests have been in geomechanics and geological engineering. He received his doctorate in 1982 from the University of California at Berkeley. Amadei holds the Mortenson Endowed Chair in Global Engineering and serves as a faculty co-director of the Mortenson Center in Engineering for Developing Communities. He is also the founding president of Engineers Without Borders – USA and the co-founder of the Engineers Without Borders-International network.

The OEPN, an initiative of the Office for Outreach and Engagement, was established in 2014 to strengthen and increase visibility of campus outreach and engagement endeavors. The OEPN is a community of practice that supports staff and faculty in their outreach and engagement works by encouraging collaboration, sharing best practices and providing professional development and networking opportunities.
