What does a marshmallow have to do with self-control? If you’re a young child it can mean a lot. Researchers from CU Boulder, using the classic marshmallow test, found that children who identified with a “good” group of children were more likely to exercise self-control when given the choice of eating one marshmallow now or waiting 15 minutes and getting two to eat, says Sabine Doebel in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience.
