Family Day: Nature’s Aviators

Look up in the sky, what’s soaring by? A bird, a bat, a bee or a seed? Take an up-close look at wings covered in feathers, scales and fur—what structures help them fly? Through observations and hands-on experiments, spend the day with your head in the clouds, exploring the successes and challenges of nature’s aviators, featuring live birds, flying squid rocket launching and more.

Drop in between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The Museum of Natural History's free family days inspire wonderment about the natural world in families and kids ages 0–18 years.

Astronomy Day at Fiske Planetarium

All events are free; come for an hour, or stay all day. Preview the brochure of activities to see what's happening.
