This weekend, check out several events on campus and off campus: an evening of comedy, poetry and performance with Alok Vaid-Menon; a screening of Lady Bird; the Alpha Chi Omega DiVA Run 5K; opening day of the Boulder Farmers Market; and the Tulip Fairy and Elf Festival at Pearl Street Mall. 

Friday, April 6

Performance by Alok Vaid-Menon: Femme in Public

Head to Old Main for an evening of comedy, poetry and performance by Alok Vaid-Menon. Admission is free, and doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Copies of Vaid-Menon’s poetry book Femme in Public will be sold at the performance.

Watch Lady Bird

Enjoy a screening of Lady Bird on Friday in Chem 140 with free popcorn. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m., and the movie will begin at 8 p.m.


Saturday, April 7

Alpha Chi Omega DiVA Run 5K

Alpha Chi Omega at CU Boulder is hosing their Spring Philanthropy that aims to prevent domestic violence though education and help those who have been affected by donating funds to the local safe house shelter. This year, they’re hosting a DiVA Run 5K. Participants are welcome to take part in the run for $20 or simply show up and enjoy games and snacks for $5. Join from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the lawn behind Duane Physics.

Opening day of the Boulder Farmers Market

The time of year has come when local vendors, farmers and artisans gather along Boulder's Central Park on Saturdays to sell their fares. There will be live music by 4TELL. This event runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and admission is free.


Sunday, April 8

Tulip Fairy and Elf Festival

This event, hosted by downtown Boulder, invites community members to celebrate spring by taking part in a parade and admiring the recently bloomed tulips. Admission is free, and this event at Pearl Street Mall is family-friendly.
