Do you have a passion for biological research? The Beckman Scholars Program will award up to two scholarships this year to outstanding freshman, sophomore or junior life science majors to support independent research in the lab of one of 15 Beckman mentors at CU Boulder.

    This prestigious program for outstanding CU Boulder undergraduates in the life sciences will support your journey to becoming a research leader. The award includes a $21,000 stipend that supports research on campus this summer (2018) through the 2018–19 academic year and the end of summer 2019, along with a $2,800 budget for supplies and travel as well as travel each summer to the Beckman Symposium in California.

    Freshman, sophomores and juniors (those admitted to the program, including juniors, must commit to remaining on campus to do their laboratory research through summer 2019) majoring in one of the departments listed below are encouraged to apply by March 19. Finalists will be interviewed April 9-10, and one or two scholars will be selected to begin research this summer.

    • Chemistry and biochemistry
    • Ecology and evolutionary biology
    • Integrative physiology
    • Molecular, cellular and developmental biology
    • Psychology and neuroscience
