The Week Ahead, a series geared toward faculty and staff, provides reminders, events and possible items for the docket. Coming up in the next few days are Biometric health screenings, deadlines to nominate staff for their outreach work and to apply for campus sustainability funding, and more.

Attend the Three Minute Thesis competition Feb. 20

Support students at the Graduate School's inaugural Three Minute Thesis (3MT) event, an academic competition that challenges students to succinctly describe complicated research to a general audience.


 Go to Chili Pots Feb. 21

Head to the Cultural Unity & Engagement Center in the C4C for Chili Pots from noon to 1:30 p.m. This informal get-together provides an atmosphere where students and staff can take a small break and refuel during the day with chili, corn bread and lemonade. 


 Get a special preview Feb. 22 of the CU Boulder surplus property auction

Giving CU Boulder departments a chance to view and acquire surplus items before they go on sale to the public Feb. 24, advance entry is available from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 22. 


Nominate a colleague for an outreach staff award, due Feb. 23

Know a staff member doing exemplary outreach work? Nominate them for the Anne K. Heinz award and a chance to receive $5,000 for their campus outreach program.


 Get the full picture on your health Feb. 23

Employee Services will bring biometric screenings to campus today and on additional days through March 22 so you can get the full picture of yourself.


 Apply for a ‘large grant’ from Sustainable CU, deadline Feb. 23

Do you have a big idea to make campus more sustainable? Sustainable CU has approximately $100,000 of funds available for sustainable infrastructure projects on campus, and is accepting spring 2018 large grant applications. Small grant applications (less than $2,500) are accepted via an online form on a rolling basis throughout the year.
