Submitted by stauffeg on

Technology will play a key role in your success in the coming school year and here are the top tips to help you make the most of CU Boulder’s technology and its support services.

  1. Everyone: Get free IT help via phone, email and walk-in support for your computing issues.
  2. Everyone: Register your portable devices at one of the Buff Tech walk-in desktop support locations. Registering your devices can help prevent theft and assist in recovering your device if it is lost or stolen.
  3. Everyone: Get free or reduced-price software like Microsoft Office and academic software like AutoCAD and Mathematica. And now students can also get in on campus pricing for Adobe Creative Cloud.
  4. Everyone: Install campus-recommended antivirus on your devices.
  5. Students: Install the wepa print app so you can print from any of the 50 campus printing kiosks.
  6. Instructors: Check out the start-of-semester Canvas tips.
  7. Instructors: Utilize campus accessibility resources to make assure that your course materials are accessible to everyone.
  8. Everyone: Install CU Boulder’s VPN so you can connect to the campus network and access restricted campus resources when you’re off campus.
  9. Everyone: Get free training at Lynda.com (soon to be LinkedIn Learning) for the latest software, creative and business skills. Or develop your personal and professional skills with Skillsoft.
  10. Everyone: Like and follow OIT on FacebookTwitter and YouTube, and sign up for the OIT News Feed or Service Alerts, so you can get the latest CU Boulder IT news and tips throughout the year.

Have a great semester!
