CU Boulder is opening a new 1,975 square-foot campus startup hub in January 2018, located on the first floor of the new Village Center in Williams Village, one mile from Main Campus.
The new space is for anyone to hang, dip your toes into the entrepreneurial mindset and test the waters of prototyping your wildest dreams. No matter your experience level, your journey starts here.
CU Boulder community members are asked to please bring a Buff OneCard for entry. Paid parking is available in the nearby surface lot. Attendees are encouraged to walk, bike, bus and carpool, as spaces are limited.
The Jan. 23 grand opening event, open to the public, will feature time to enjoy the space, student innovation stories and a social hour with our innovation ecosystem on campus.
About the hub
The Startup Hub is intended to convene, educate and build community around innovation and entrepreneurship. Presently, there is no student hub for entrepreneurship on campus, and with Spark Boulder (a student-run coworking space off campus) no longer in operation, there is a need to fill this void.
The space is intended to provide:
- Startup support
- Makerspace: VR station, 3-D printing and more
- Entrepreneur speakers and workshops
- Office hours with experts
While the primary residents of Williams Village are freshman, this space will be open to all students and will target upperclassmen and community mentors who are deeply involved in entrepreneurship.
