AUDIO: Engineering student Nicholas Kellaris on soft, self-sealing devices that mimic muscles

When you think of robots you probably think of metallic droids. But at CU Boulder a group of researchers are creating the next generation of robots using low cost soft materials similar to what’s used for making potato chip bags. The goal is to create “soft robots” that mimic the expansion and contraction of natural muscles, says material science and engineering student Nicholas Kellaris.
