Prescription medication spilled out on tableAs we near the end of the semester and finals, the CU Boulder Police Department wants to remind you to find the right ways to finish strong. This includes starting your studying early, taking breaks, getting plenty of rest and staying hydrated.

What your plan should not include is abusing prescription medications. If you choose to take a medicine in a way that is different from what the doctor prescribed, it is considered prescription drug abuse. This could include:

  • Taking a medicine that is not prescribed you.
  • Taking more of your prescription than you are supposed to.
  • Taking the medicine in a different way than you are supposed to.

Please remember buying and/or possessing medications that have not been prescribed to you, or selling your prescription drugs to someone else, is against the law and can be charged as felonies.
