Brené Brown tickets go on sale Oct. 23

Esteemed scholar, author and public speaker Brené Brown will speak Nov. 8 at CU Boulder’s Macky Auditorium. The research professor and Huffington Endowed Chair at the University of Houston is hosted by the Distinguished Speakers Board, a student-led organization at CU Boulder.

CU Boulder student ($2) and faculty/staff ($10) tickets are cash-only and require the Buff OneCard holder be present at the time of purchase. Tickets will be sold weekdays from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning Monday, Oct. 23, at the first-floor event table in the University Memorial Center through Friday or until tickets are sold out.

An extremely limited number of community tickets ($25) will be available beginning at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 23, exclusively online.

Each ticketing tier is permitted one additional ticket per guest (for a total of two). Due to high demand, group seating exceptions will not be made. Larger groups must purchase together at the same time.

The event

Brown's Nov. 8 speech will seek to challenge guests on everything we think we know about cultivating true belonging in our communities, organizations and culture. Her new book Braving the Wilderness will serve as a guide.

Audience members are encouraged to submit questions for Brown, to be addressed during a moderated Q&A following her speech. Questions may be submitted on the official Facebook event page or via Twitter at @cudsb.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m, with the event beginning at 7:30 p.m. There will be ASL interpreters on site. Please note Macky Auditorium has assigned seating. Questions regarding this event can be directed to dsbchair@colorado.edu and brandon.c.meyers@colorado.edu.

About the speaker

Brown gained notoriety following her TEDx Houston talk “The Power of Vulnerability,” where she explored the concepts of vulnerability, courage and shame. Amassing more than 30 million views, her speech is one of the top five most-watched TED talks of all time.

In addition to her fame on the TEDx stage, she has published multiple books on The New York Times' best-seller list, including The Gifts of Imperfection, Daring Greatly and Rising Strong.
