As your student body presidents of the University of Colorado Student Government, we are excited to present to you a statewide effort to alleviate the cost of higher education.

We recognize that textbook costs are growing at an alarming rate and hindering students ability to effectively learn, grow and excel in the classroom. After meeting with staff and faculty, we have extended our reach to the Colorado Department of Higher Education and joined in an effort to explore the area of “Open Educational Resources” (OER).

OER is a possible avenue to provide textbooks to students at an extremely discounted rate—and potentially free in certain cases. We highly encourage you to take a statewide survey in pursuit of this effort and let your voice be heard!

Sincerely,

Troy Fossett,
President of Internal Affairs

Carter Gruba,
President of External Affairs

Betsy Sabala,
