Professor Melissa Hart, director of CU Boulder’s Byron R. White Center for the Study of American Constitutional Law at Colorado Law, is available for comment on the Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission case. On Thursday, Sept. 7, the U.S. Department of Justice filed a brief in support of Colorado bakery owner Jack Phillips, who refused to create a cake to celebrate the marriage of two men. The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to review the case. Hart is an expert on the U.S. Supreme Court.
