The Big Sick won’t be released until June, but you can see an advanced screening of the popular Sundance film on Monday! You can pick up your tickets in room 401 in the University Memorial Center.

The romantic comedy movie is about the real-life courtship between Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon. What begins as a one-night stand between the aspiring comedian and a grad student blossoms into a complicated relationship. The story centers around the life Nanjiani's traditional Muslim parents expect him to lead and the mysterious illness Emily suffers from.

The Big Sick is directed by Michael Showalter (Hello my name is Doris) and produced by Judd Apatow (Trainwreck and This is 40) and Barry Mendel (Trainwreck and Royal Tennenbaums).

This event is hosted by CU Boulder's Program Council, a student-run organization that provides affordable, high quality, face-rocking, entertainment and professional event support for the Boulder campus community.

In the video below, The Big Sick cast discusses the basis for the movie.
