CWA seeking student volunteers for April 2017 conference
The 2017 Conference on World Affairs (CWA) is fast approaching, but it's not too late to volunteer!
Drive the co-creator of The Daily Show or a former NFL football player. Have lunch with the superintendent of the Grand Canyon or a polar explorer. Take a walk with the former White House event coordinator or NASA's former deputy administrator.
The annual event will feature 100 speakers and 200 panels over five days, Monday, April 10, through Friday, April 14.
Those who are interested in volunteering must attend one mandatory meeting this week and one mandatory meeting the week after spring break (which is the week before the conference). No prior CWA experience is required or expected.
Mandatory Meeting: Round I
March 15 at 7 p.m.
Mandatory Meetings: Round II
April 4 or 5 at 7 p.m.
2017 Conference on World Affairs
April 10 to 14
The next mandatory meeting is Wednesday, March 15, at 7 p.m. at the Institute of the Behavioral Science, room 155A. There will be free pizza and the chance to meet other conference volunteers.
The second round of required meetings is Tuesday, April 4, or Wednesday, April 5, at the same time and place noted above. Again, this includes free pizza and awesome company!
If you wish to volunteer, you must come to one meeting in each round of mandatory meetings.
Students are also eligible to volunteer to drive CWA participants, which creates a unique opportunity for one-on-one conversations with truly outstanding individuals—an unforgettable experience! Those who are interested must attend the transportation meeting directly after the student meeting on April 4.
Additional jobs are available, so CWA encourages all interested students to attend the mandatory meetings this week.
