City seeks CU Boulder student, employee participation on corridors study working group
The city of Boulder is seeking CU Boulder students, faculty and staff who are interested in joining a community working group that will provide input during the planning process for the 30th and Colorado Corridors Study.
The city is conducting the study to develop conceptual designs that address existing and future multimodal travel and safety needs along both the 30th Street corridor, from Baseline Road to Pearl Street, and the Colorado Avenue corridor, from Foothills Parkway all the way west through the CU Boulder campus to the intersection of Broadway and Euclid Avenue. The intent is to build on goals outlined in the city’s Transportation Master Plan by working with the community to identify enhancements and safety projects. The working group provides a unique way for CU Boulder stakeholders to weigh in on the future of these two crucial corridors.
The city plans to form a group of 15 individuals from across Boulder who have varying backgrounds and interests. The working group is expected to meet four to five times between March and October 2017, and staff will use the group’s feedback to develop recommendations and materials for consideration at Transportation Advisory Board and City Council meetings.
Community members interested in participating in the working group must submit a letter of interest to Senior Transportation Planner Noreen Walsh at walshn@bouldercolorado.gov by 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 27. More information about the working group, the selection process and expectations and commitment expected from the group can be found on the city’s 30th and Colorado Corridors Study website.
For those who wish to weigh in on the corridors study but cannot commit to the working group, the city has also posted a link to an online questionnaire from the corridors study site.
