The CU Boulder libraries have recently made a change to off-campus access for the American Chemical Society (ACS) publications, which will no longer be accessible using the campus VPN. Instead, users will need to log in to the library’s EZProxy or access through the library’s catalog.
This decision has been made following a number of inappropriate and excessive use violations of ACS, which resulted in the publisher disabling access for the entire campus for a period of time, creating a huge inconvenience for users. EZProxy gives the library better control over who can access resources and thus protects the library, as well as all CU Boulder students, faculty and staff, in instances of misuse.
Visit the University Libraries website for more information, including a link to a browser extension that makes it easier to access library resources off campus.
