CUClicker: Software update, instructor checkout and upcoming training

The first change is an unexpected software update. Because Apple changed the way third-party applications install in the Sierra OS environment, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) needs to update the i>clicker software mid-year.
If you already have i>clicker (version 7.4 or higher) installed and running on your computer, then you do not need to make any changes this semester. But, if you need to install i>clicker on your computer, you will need to download version 7.9 from the OIT website.
Version 7.9 has been successfully tested in the classroom over the past semester. The only changes are in the installation procedure; tutorials for installing on Mac and Windows can be found here. Please follow the tutorial closely, as the installation procedure has changed and needs to be followed exactly. Failure to do so will likely result in an error message, especially in the Mac install.
Another big change this semester is that OIT has obtained a number of instructor clickers that faculty can check out on a semesterly basis (or longer if necessary). To obtain a clicker, you need an IdentiKey login name and a departmental speedtype against loss or breakage. Simply head to the front desk in the Technology Learning Center with your Buff OneCard and speedtype number.
Finally, OIT is offering trainings for the latest version of i>clicker. From downloading and installing the software to figuring out how to get it to talk to D2L and learning how to use it in the classroom, OIT has you covered. The class is for novices and experienced users alike.
