Chancellor DiStefanoWith the end of the semester in sight and many beginning to plan for the approaching holidays, I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to each of you for your work and dedication to the university over the past year. I am proud to say that because of your commitment and hard work, the University of Colorado Boulder continues to grow in its ability to educate students, conduct research and serve the state of Colorado. We shine because of each of you, and your contributions continue to differentiate this campus as an outstanding place to learn, teach and work.

As a way to show that appreciation beyond just words, I am pleased to announce that each CU Boulder campus employee will have the option to take additional holiday leave on either Tuesday, Dec. 27 or Tuesday, Jan. 3.

All employees will receive eight hours of holiday pay to be used on either Dec. 27 or Jan. 3, prorated for part time. The campus will remain open both days, and employees should work with their supervisors when selecting which day to take. Employees designated as essential services personnel (who are required to work on both days) may choose an alternative day for this holiday.

If you are designated as essential services personnel, please make sure that you coordinate with, and receive the approval of, your supervisor in rescheduling your alternate holiday. Questions should be directed to the Department of Human Resources (2-6475).

Thank you again for all that you do to make CU Boulder excellent.

Philip P. DiStefano,
Chancellor
