Students run in the 2015 Nearly Naked Mile1. When else can you run through campus in your underwear and get away with it? Experience the chilly October air whipping your bare skin during this one-mile run.

2. It’s for a good cause. At last year’s race, the hundreds of student participants donated 1,540 articles of clothing to A Precious Child, a local nonprofit that supports disadvantaged and displaced children.

3. Free food. Who can turn down a postrace meal?

4. It makes for a unique Friday night out. Dancing to DJ-spun tunes in brisk weather while wearing your skivvies is definitely a break from the routine.

5. It’s a blast. After winning the race last year, Joseph Crawford said: “This was the best decision I’ve made this year!”

This year’s race is Friday, Oct. 21 beginning at 8 p.m. at the Koenig Alumni Center. The race is neon-themed, so come in your brightest running costumes. Remember to bring any extra clothes you wish to donate to a child in need!
