Gallant with RKCB. Get your tickets ($5 for student) now for the homecoming concert that we’ve been seeing fliers for since school started: the very talented R&B artist, Gallant, who recently performed for President Obama and who has been adored by the LA Times, Sir Elton John and Billboard (not to mention the plethora of fans). To get in on what everyone is so excited about, get yourself to the Glenn Miller Ballroom from 8 to 11:30 p.m. and get your dance moves warmed up. Gallant concert.
Branch Out Film Screening: Jiro Dreams of Sushi. Jiro Dreams of Sushi is an awesome documentary about a sushi making master, Jiro, and his world famous restaurant in Japan at which he has become one of the highest authorities on the sushi art form. Fair warning, this movie will make you hungry. It will be screened from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in UMC 204 and is free to all. Jiro Dreams of Sushi
Midday music meditation. Life is hard sometimes. It’s very important to remember to take care of yourself, and if that means meditating with a group of very peaceful people with background music, then this event is for you. The Boulder Public Library (1001 Arapahoe Ave.) hosts this free midday meditation from noon to 1 p.m. and the live music will be very soothing. Bring your peaceful vibes and relax for awhile. Hypnotist show. Yes, it’s pretty much as cool as it sounds. If you’ve never seen a hypnotist perform, then be sure to go to Old Main at 6:30 p.m. for a free show of hypnotism by professional hypnotist Larry Volz. I dare you to volunteer (because it’s actually a very interesting experience being hypnotized). Don’t miss out! Hypnotist show
Get test ready. If you are in need of some test taking tips, head to Fleming 170 from 5 to 6 p.m. for an hour long session, where the study experts will do their best to get you mentally prepared for your tests. skills@colorado.edu.

For the Health of it: Taking Charge of Your Birth Control. In my opinion, birth control cannot be stressed enough for those who want to use it, and if you want to learn more about your options and how to use them, then swing by the Dennis Small Cultural Center (UMC 457) for a free instructive info session with the Women’s Resource Center from 2 to 3 p.m. and bring your questions! For the Health of it
Homecoming parade and pep rally. This is the Pearl Street Stampede to end all Pearl Street Stampedes! There will be music, probably a firetruck, lots of dancing and pompoms, and a pep rally on the Boulder County Courthouse lawn following a massive parade. It is a party in which the entirety of Boulder joins, so make sure you’re there! The parade begins at 7 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 15
Official homecoming tailgate. There will be a tailgate for students on Farrand Field and one for absolutely everyone on Benson Field before the game starting at 3 p.m. Both are free to go to, and there will be tons of food for purchase, so attend and rev up some spirit and support for your Buffs! Bring your friends, bring your black and gold, and bring your excitement. Homecoming tailgate
CU vs. Arizona State Football homecoming game. Come out to the game at 6 p.m. and give your Buffalo football men as much support as can be mustered, because we’ve been winning a fair bit more than we’ve been losing lately, which rocks! All I’m saying is, be there or be square and wear your lucky underwear. Homecoming game
