Wardenburg Health Services is pleased to announce that Alan Kent, PhD, has accepted the position of the director of Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) at Wardenburg Health Services effective July 18, 2016.

Dr. Kent joins CU-Boulder from the University of Denver where he serves as the executive director of Health and Counseling. He brings with him nearly 20 years of experience in the administration and management of health and wellness programs in higher education.

As a board-certified clinical psychologist he is deeply committed to providing high quality counseling services to help support student success and retention. For the past seven years he has overseen integrated wellness programs and looks forward to having a more direct impact on the mental health and well-being of the students at CU-Boulder.

He is committed to inclusive excellence and multicultural competence, having successfully implemented several initiatives focusing on support of underrepresented students in his current role.

Dr. Kent holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Rochester and master's and doctorate degrees in clinical/community psychology from DePaul University.
