St. Patrick's Day Weekend
By Lisa Severy, Interim Dean of Students
Melissa Zak, Chief of Police, CU-Boulder
As St. Patrick's Day approaches, we'd like to encourage everyone to celebrate responsibly, and to take steps to ensure the health and safety of yourself and others.
- If you are out at night, it is harder for drivers to see you. Wear light colors.
- Remember to be a good neighbor: keep your guests inside and your noise levels down. If you are hosting a party off-campus, please register your party with Off-Campus Housing & Neighborhood Relations by noon on Friday in UMC 313. Party Registration.
- You can expect to see an increased law enforcement presence from CUPD and Boulder PD.
- If you are of age and plan to drink, avoid mixing alcohol with other substances (like prescription drugs and marijuana) and drink plenty of water too.
- Use the buddy system. Always walk with somebody, don't leave friends alone while out at night, and remember to tell your friends, family and/or roommates where you are going.
- Look out for each other and call for help if you're concerned, even if that means making the hard call.
- If you are out late or drinking, take advantage of CU Night Ride (303-492-7233) or Late Night Transit.
- The obligation to help prevent sexual assault is on all of us. It’s On Us.
