The CU Grow Management and Leadership Series, offered by the Office of Organizational and Employee Development (OED), provides CU-Boulder supervisors, managers and leaders with current, influential and critical topics in the fields of management and leadership.

CU Grow is starting its second year in 2016 and we are pleased to announce our spring and summer seminars. Programs are offered free of charge to CU-Boulder employees. Space is limited and sessions are filling up fast.

CU Grow: Leading Groups through Conflict

Effective groups harness the constructive and transformational properties of conflict to enhance decision-making, strengthen relationships and improve performance. This interactive seminar will provide tools for diagnosing and analyzing conflict, and implementing strategies for making progress within conflicts. Participants will apply course concepts to a conflict with which they are familiar. Participants will also practice framing conflict issues and will learn the ‘language of resolution’ appropriate for each stage in a conflict resolution model.

CU Grow: Manage Change, Maximize Performance

Change management is the process, tools and techniques used to manage the people side of change to achieve required business results. When combined with effective project management and effective leadership, change management serves as a powerful approach to realizing a desired future state. 

Participants in this session will leave with a deeper understanding of what change management is and begin to understand how they can apply change management principals and techniques to real world projects to ensure success at both the individual stakeholder and organizational levels.

CU Grow: Using Goal Setting and Feedback to Maximize Leader Effectiveness

Goal setting has proven to be the most effective organizational intervention across leaders and organizations. In this presentation we will focus on the steps in applying goal setting to your own goals and setting goals for others. In addition, effective feedback processes are essential for ensuring employee motivation and success. We will cover one approach to feedback that has been linked to improved employee outcomes.
