Andrea Gibson to visit CU-Boulder Nov. 5-6
Andrea Gibson, spoken word artist and author, will visit CU-Boulder Nov. 5-6, to give a performance and host a workshop on gender theory. The performance and workshop are free for students, faculty and staff. Gibson's is being hosted by the Cultural Events Board and Gay-Straight Alliance.
Gibson will perform her acclaimed poetry on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom. Gibson’s work explores numerous topics including gender, class, white privilege and sexuality. No tickets are required.
On Nov. 6 at 3 p.m. in the C4C Abrams Lounge, Gibson will host a Gender Theory workshop for CU-Boulder students, faculty and staff at no cost. Gibson has been described as being raw and fearless, which has given her an edge in the spoken word community. She is the first winner of the Women’s World Poetry Slam and her work has been featured on BBC, Air America, C-SPAN and Free Speech TV.
