Mary Covell Returns To UMC As Business Manager

Carlos Garcia, director of the University Memorial Center, has announced the appointment of Mary E. Covell as business manager of the UMC.

A certified public accountant, Covell oversees all budgeting and financial operations for the UMC administration. She also is managing six staff members in accounting.

Jack O'Neill, former business manager, had returned from retirement to fill the post on a temporary basis before Covell was hired this summer.

Having worked in both the academic and private sectors, Covell brings 24 years of experience to her current position. She has worked at CU for more than 18 years in various departments including Housing, the Student Recreation Center and the University Memorial Center.

Covell received her bachelor's degree in 1978 and her master's in accounting in 1989, both from CU-Boulder.
